Why I created a Calligraphy Advent Calendar

The truth is, it was inspired by another Advent Calendar I had purchased for my daughter who loves to paint. Everyday, instead of opening a toy, it became an invitation to create and paint slowly with her. I thought, why not calligraphy? Especially in the holiday season, everybody gets so busy and it can feel so overwhelming. Calligraphy invites us to be more intentional and to slow down. That's why we created the Brush Calligraphy Advent Calendar - something easy enough to learn on your own or by watching the videos, filled with traceable worksheets, asking for about 15-20 minutes of your time, which is perfect for a creative reset. After creating Volume 1, we decided Volume 2 would be an extension of it, so it's not just learning letters, but creating for a theme, so that you can create some projects related to it.

Personalized ✍️

Advent Calendars ordered by October 31st will be personalized with a name written in calligraphy, by yours truly ;) Outside of that timeframe, only the Advent Calendars shipping out of Canada (which will go to Canada/int'l orders), will be personalized.

Can anyone do it?

The Brush Calligraphy Advent Calendars are rated 6 and up, so that means it's great for beginners and anyone who wants to grow their brush calligraphy skills. And yes, it's great for both lefties and righties!

Do I need to know calligraphy already?

No, the Advent Calendars both have instructions for beginners.

Do I have to start with Volume 1?

No, you don't have to start with Volume 1.

I bought a Brush Calligraphy Advent Calendar last year. Is it the same as Volume I?

Yes, Volume 1 is the original calendar. Unless you want the exact same one (we've had people order more than 1 for themselves), choose Volume 2 for 24 completely different booklets.

When will my Advent Calendar ship?

Early November 2026, even for the Volume 1.

If you have ordered other things aside from the Advent Calendar, it will ship together. So please place separate orders if you would like to receive your other items first!

Already placed an order with the Advent Calendar, but would like to receive the rest of the order first? Just email us at studio@writtenwordcalligraphy.com, and we'll arrange shipping. Please note you will have to cover shipping for these items as well.

When does personalization end?

October 31st for USA customers. For Canada / Int'l customers, this is generally available while supplies last.

Are the themes in the Advent Calendar only for the holidays?

No, actually we created it to be flexible throughout the year.

Is this a physical product?

Yes it is and requires shipping. Only the instructional videos are online.

Can I return my Advent Calendar?

Advent Calendar orders, whether Personalized or not, are FINAL SALE and are not eligible for refund, return or exchange.

If a product arrives damaged, please email us at studio@writtenwordcalligraphy.com and we will assess what can be replaced. We have very limited inventory for this product, so if the item cannot be replaced, we will issue an appropriate refund commensurate with the value of the product.
