A Good Samaritan Picked It Up by the Side of the Road...

Hi friend, 

I have a wild story for you today - a story that I still sometimes can't believe it would've happened to me. This year, our Advent Calendar took almost an entire year to create - from concept to prototyping many times, to packaging, and marketing. On one of the many samples that were shipped to me, one of them, got lost. The courier came to my warehouse a few minutes AFTER we left (of course) and didn't leave it behind, but called me to say he'll attempt to deliver it the next day. But somehow, on his way home, the package fell out of his truck and into the road. How did I know this? 

Because the very next day, I got a phone call from someone named David - now I normally don't pick up calls from people I don't know, but I thought it was going to be the courier. He said that he was walking his dog, and found my package on the sidewalk! It looked like it got wet from the rain, and damaged because there were tire marks and some paper ripped from the package. I'm like what!? 

He found my number because it was on the package, and sent me a picture of it. I was flabbergasted. Anyway, after some back and forth, my hubby went to pick it up from him and we reported it to the courier company. I just can't believe what this poor Advent Calendar had to go through! But also, thank you David for reaching out to me to help us get this sample back. It really helped us create the Brush Calligraphy Advent Calendar! What a miracle, truly.

Wish I Could Tell You That Was Only Our Shipping Mishap...

But when we were due to receive the main shipment as well for the Advent Calendars, the tracking didn't quite work until the last minute, and of course they attempted delivery half an hour after we left the warehouse. We had put in our phone number just in case, but they kept delivering the boxes... one at a time. So, I'm just beyond grateful that we had them and were able to get them to you.

So excited to be featured on Andrea Peacock DIY's channel this past week for our Advent Calendar. I really do think it's a beautiful gift for yourself as a way to calm yourself especially in this very busy season we are in. 

This Past Week...

I had a chance to speak with my pastors and reflect upon some of the new things I'm thinking of doing next year for Written Word, and truly came refreshed! Then, this prayer came to me from the Bible app, and I was just so amazed at God's timing to know exactly what I need at this time. I also was teaching the kids this past Saturday at church, and we made this burning bush craft that made me really sit and be still, praying and listening to His will. 

So, Be Ready for Some Changes Here at Written Word in 2026!

Even my son, reminded me of the verse in Jeremiah 29:11, that He knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us, and not to harm us - plans to give us hope and a future. Thank you for being here and celebrating all these tiny joys with me - from mishaps to miracles. So grateful for you!
