She wrote me the sweetest letter 💌📬
I received the sweetest card
Hi Jason,
I received the sweetest piece of mail recently from one of my students who just finished the Creative Calligraphy Course - and honestly, the effort was just chef's kiss! The envelope, the return address flap, the card itself, the details of the illustrations, the sweet note on the inside - you could just feel the care behind it so, so much. I just really wanted to celebrate her as I'm so grateful to receive such a beautifully crafted snail mail.
In the Creative Calligraphy Course, sending snail mail to me is optional, but I secretly look forward to my students sending them to me, because frankly, I don't receive a lot of beautiful mail, ok?! Haha. So this is so fun for me to receive :)
Learn about the Creative Calligraphy Course
What makes it even crazier?
She pretty much powered through the course in a little under two weeks. Now I know not everybody has this kind of time to devote to learning calligraphy, but I wanted to share that progress is possible in this short amount of time if you're able to put your heart into it.
Practice makes progress
She devoted about two hours a day in practice in those two weeks, which as you can see, has grown into more refinement, cleaner connections, more confidence, and more control of the tools. Sometimes, we forget that the goal isn't perfection - it's consistency in showing up, and practicing even when we don't feel like it.
Seeing her finish the course reminded that everyone moves through learning differently, especially in various seasons of our lives. Some take months, some pause and return, some may take years. But there's no "right pace". It's definitely okay to come back to it, and with our Creative Calligraphy Course, you can always unlock it to get lifetime access, so you can get access to it anytime. What really helped Maryanne through the process was being part of the Write Slowly Collective, so we are able to check her homework and progress. As it's a monthly subscription, you can also pause and restart when you feel ready.
If you've been wanting to learn calligraphy, or even curious about where to begin, you can try the first two sessions of the Creative Calligraphy Course for free. You'll have 30 days to explore the foundations, practice your stores, and see if it's something you'd like to continue. If you'd done our CCC course below - perhaps it's something you can share with your friends that may be interested in calligraphy too.
With love,
Karla ♡
